  10. Enhancing Grasspea production for safe human food, animal feed, and sustainable rice-based production systems in India

  11. Progress made under Grasspea project • Presently Culturable waste specially in rice-fallow( where any crop may not be grown) • and existing areas where cultivation is continuing being identified for replacement • with low ODAP varieties • High Biomass and low β -ODAP (%) containing lines are being sown for breeding desired varieties Local cultivars: β-ODAP% in the range of 0.5 to 2.5% Average yield ranges from 455-640 kg/ha

  12. Progress made under Grasspea project A. Import of High Biomass and low ODAP materials from Syria and Ethiopia GIYT-HB-11 103 Samples Supplied to IGFRI, Jhansi GIYT-Lo-11 60 Samples Supplied to CAU, Manipur GIYT-E-11 60 Samples Supplied to AAU, Reg. Station, Naugaon B. Seed Multiplication Local cultivars: β-ODAP% in the range of 0.5 to 2.5% Yield ranges 455-640 kg/ha
