  2. FAIR TRADE FORTNIGHT Fairtrade Fortnight runs from 23rd February until 3rd March. The Fairtrade Committee are running a number of events to promote Fairtrade including an S1 Assembly, raffles, coffee mornings etc. We are also going to put a wee quiz question in everyday over the next 2 weeks to see how much you know about Fairtrade? Take the Fairtrade Quiz  answers on the next page…

  7. Committees Fairtrade Committee Meeting When: Fridays Time: 12.45 pm Where: Mrs Summer’s Maths room. Are you interested in Fair Trade issues? Join us for our Fairtrade meetings. New members welcome! Find out more from Mrs Summers. Anti Bullying Committee The ABC will meet at 1pm in Miss Kennedy’s History room (every Friday). There will also be an Anti-Bullying drop it at the same time, should anyone want to come along to discuss/report any bullying issues.

  8. S5/6 Supported Study Supported Study is on tonight Please take advantage of this as it is there to help you improve your results. It is well known that those who attend Supported Study score better in the exams NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Modern Apprenticeship Programme – Latest Vacancies 16-24 year olds looking to find employment. Permanent contracts offered. Great starting salary. Please see Miss Murphy in the careers room (beside the staff room, 2nd floor) today at interval for an appointment. Please note that these posts go live today after lunch. S5 Options Interviews  Please make sure you have your completed Options Forms with you for your options interviews over the next few days.   9. S5/6 Homework Tutoring Group Every Thursday, there are FREE tutoring sessions in the Pollokshields Library. In preparation for your SQA exams, take all opportunities to get 1 to 1 support and improve the quality of your answers before the exams! Vet Work Experience PDSA have emailed the school to offer pupils who are interested in a career in the Veterinary field an opportunity to apply for their new work experience programme. If you are interested, come and collect an application pack and information from Miss McWaters

S5/6 S5 Pupils Reach Scotland Reach Scotland is a national project that aims to raise awareness of and to encourage, support and prepare secondary school pupils from s4-s6 wishing to pursue a professional degree at one of the following Universities: University of Aberdeen, University of Dundee, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow and St. Andrews University. We currently have some pupils involved in the Reach programme with an interest in pursuing careers in Dentistry, Law, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine. Reach staff are looking to add to these subject areas and are hoping to also work with students interested in Education, Accountancy/Finance and Engineering. If you are interested in pursuing a career in any of highlighted areas above, are on track to achieve the necessary qualifications and are interested in taking part in the Reach programme, please give your name to your Principal Teacher of Pastoral Care.
