Scheduling Reminders • Untimed Test Administration • Administration Schedule • Primary Reading & Math Assessments and Make-Up Administrations May 12-16, 2014 • Schools may start on May 12th or 13th • Schools must assess 1 session per day, over 2 days, for Reading. • Grade 2 math (2 session) may be done over two days or 2 sessions in 1 day with a short break (school decision must be made). • 1st Grade math is 1 session in 1 day. • Schools may have May 19th as an additional makeup day

Administration Accommodations • Who is eligible? • ESE students with current IEPs • LEP students • 504 students (Arrangements made in advance) • Possible Accommodations ESE/504 Students • Presentation • Responding • Scheduling • Setting • Assistive Devices LEP Students • Flexible Setting • Flexible Scheduling • Flexible Timing • Assistance with Directions in the heritage language • Approved Translation Dictionary

  4. Materials Needed • Directions for Administering (printed at school) • Test Booklets • #2 Pencils • Administration Record (you may make your own) • “Do Not Disturb” signs • Identifying test booklets • Because school staff will be hand scoring and entering these exams you only need have the student write their First and Last Name on the front of the booklet.

  5. Test Invalidation • If any of the following occurs: • Cheating or disruptive behavior • Illness during testing • Incorrect time • Incorrect preidentified information • Defective test/answer book • Write Invalid in red on the front cover of the test book. • Return with Not To Be Scored materials if test is invalidated

  6. Administration Record • Maintain a record of (you may make your own) • All students participating in the Primary Reading and Math Assessments • Students absent on the regular administration date • The date absent students make-up the test • Students whose test books are invalidated • Keep a copy of the forms on file at your school

Test Security DO NOT • Reveal or copy test items • Interpret items for students • Change or interfere with student responses • Fail to follow security procedures and test administration directions • leave materials unsecured DO • Collect materials daily • Place materials in locked storage • If materials are missing or scores have been altered, • initiate a thorough investigation • IMMEDIATELY contact Student Assessment & Research at (754) 321-4250

Test Administrator Responsibilities Before Testing: • Prepare room for testing by covering all visual aids • Receive materials needed for testing • Check student name • Complete ESE/504/LEP information by marking it on the administration record During Testing: • Distribute materials • Read appropriate scripts VERBATIM • Maintain test security After Testing: • Collect materials • Check student grid sheets • Complete the Administration Record • Notify School Coordinator of any missing materials

  9. Test Administrator Material Return Stack materials in this order: • Absent students (hold for make-up) • TO BE SCORED test materials • Directions for Administering • Administration Record • All NOT TO BE SCORED materials (Unused and Invalidated test books)

  10. School Coordinator Responsibilities Before Testing: • Receive and inventory test materials • Train Test Administrators • Arrange for implementation of accommodations • Assign proctors During Testing: • Supervise test administration • Maintain test security • Supervise make-up administrations

  11. School Coordinator Responsibilities After Testing: • Verify return of all secure materials • Notify Student Assessment & Research of any missing materials • Complete Materials Return Form • File Administration Records

Score Entry • Instructions and keys will be posted after the start of testing • Schools should score test booklets and enter those scores (Reading and Math) prior to 4pm on May 23th, 2014 • School coordinators or administrators should spot check entry to ensure that scores are being entered correctly • It is recommended that teachers score other classroom’s students. • Teachers need to have books to enter scores but the books need to remain on campus and should be checked in to locked storage every night.

  13. Material Return • For Traditional Schools: Materials are to be returned May 30th via pony pickup. Materials should be out in your pony area on the 29th. • For Charter Schools; Materials are to be hand delivered to 4200 NW 10th Ave, Oakland Park , FL by 3pm Friday May 30th. • Schools should return the following: • Red labeled box(es) containing scored Primary Reading test books • Yellow labeled boxes containing Unused Primary Reading test books • Used Primary Math test books are to be placed in students’ CUM folders • Unused Primary Math test books are to be securely destroyed on site
