Importance of PDH Personal Development and Health: • Teaches students how to form and maintain positive relationships • Develops students’ skills in making, communicating and acting upon health decisions • Teaches students an appreciation of and a commitment to a healthy and socially just way of living (Board of Studies NSW 2007)

  4. Importance of PE Physical Education: • Promotes physical activity and leads to an active lifestyle • Develops fundamental movement patterns and coordinated actions of the body • Primary years important for development of fundamental movement skills. Failure to gain these in primary years creates barrier to ongoing physical activity in adolescence and adulthood. (Board of Studies NSW 2007)

PDHPE Leads to Healthy Lifestyle • Improved quality of life • Less sickness, disability • Choice in work and recreation • Better personal, social & family experiences • Leads to more informed choices and control • Building blocks for students to adopt a responsible and productive role in society (Board of Studies NSW 2007)
