Senior English 8/29/12 • What is the most important thing I should know about you? • “Doctor, I feel like a pair of curtains!” - “Pull yourself together.” • Palindrome - word or passage that reads the same forward as backward Goals – Discuss classroom procedures. Sign up for Quizlet. Begin Week 1 vocabulary study. Homework – Write a paragraph with at least three of the vocabulary words included and marked. Points will be assigned.

Senior English 8/30/12 • Write about the following topic: “Writing and Me.” • What do you call a vegetarian with diarrhea? • Logogogue – a person who lays down the law concerning words and their use. Goals – Finish procedure and grade discussion. Discuss thinking habits. Poetry analysis of Motto. Homework – Complete analysis of “Motto” as it could relate to education. Points will be assigned tomorrow.

Senior English 8/31/12 • What do you think Authentic Intellectual Work could mean? • “Doctor am I going to die?” “That’s the last thing your going to do.” • Logomachy – a dispute about words and their meanings. Goals – Explore the relationship between non-critical thinking and Authentic intellectual work. Homework – Work on vocabulary – use quizlet - for next week. Quiz on Tuesday 9/4.
