Understanding the business landscape in Egypt is crucial for success. The government regulates but does not control businesses, ensuring fair competition. Arabic is the official language, and lack of proficiency can be seen as disrespectful. Business hours mirror those in the U.S., from 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Formality is key; using titles like "Excellency" is expected. Gift-giving is a traditional way to start meetings, and appropriate greetings vary by gender. Awareness of cultural nuances, including gender interactions, will enhance business relations in Egypt.
