Procedural Text • Goal: To make a water saving device • Materials used: Pool pump with filter, washing machine, tank, flexible pipes. • Steps: • Run the water outlet pipe from the washing machine into a large container/tankto collect the dirty water. • Run a pipe from this container to a filter with a pump to push the water through. • Then run two pipes/hoses from the filter. One for watering and one for toilet flushing. • The dirt can be scraped off the filter and used for compost and the garden.

  5. How my device works My water saver re-uses the dirty water from the washing machine, you need to use environmentally friendly detergent to wash the clothes. The water is collected in a tank, water from the tank goes through a filter. The filter has a pump to push the dirty water through the filter and the cleaned water out. The clean water can be used to water the garden or to flush a toilet. The dirt goes to a garden or to compost. The water is not clean enough to drink.
