Goal : To make a water saving device • Step.1 Cut a section of pipe between the existing mixer/tap and the shower head then fit a T-joint at this cut. • Step.2 Attach a second tap to the T-joint . • Step .3 Attach the pipe to the tap so that the unheated water passes through this pipe and gets stored in a tank or bucket.

  5. How it works. • When you start the shower it normally comes out cold because the water from the heater takes about 20 seconds to reach the bathroom. So, what my device does is redirects the cold water to go through a pipe which leads to a tank or storage container but make sure that the container is big enough. As the water starts to get hot turn my tap to redirect the heated water to the shower. I guess my device saves about five litres of water at every shower.
