Opto Working Group Summary • OptoWG • formed in 2005 • https://edms.cern.ch/nav/CERN-0000072984/CERN-0000073462 • Sub-Group a: Lessons learned and to be learned from LHC • Sub-Group b: Optical system irradiation guidelines • Sub-Group c: Optical link evaluation criteria and test procedures • Versatile Link project started in 2008 due to remain active until 2012. • Is there still interest to operate as a WG? francois.vasey@cern.ch

Opto Working Group Summary • There is interest to continue the WG • More lessons to be learned, and from more subdetectors than only trackers • VL will not be the only opto-project in the years to come • (what will happen after 2012?) • Need to have and maintain an open forum for discussing results and progress • Will organize a mini-workshop based on invited contributions, with plenty of time for discussion • Possibly Feb-Mar 2010 • Chaired by KK Gan and F Vasey • Will continue meeting/reporting in TWEPP framework francois.vasey@cern.ch
