  1. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Climate change has been a huge concern for the governments and policy makers across the world. Mitigation of climate change has become more important than ever, if we intend to save the world. The reduction of carbon footprint is essential for mankind. World Biogas Association released a report at the inaugural World Biogas Summit which took place in Birmingham in year 2019. The report highlighted the enormous potential of anaerobic digestion technology. The technology produces biogas from waste treatment. One of the key benefits of biogas generation through AD technology is global GHG emission reduction by 3290 to 4360 Mt CO2 eq. To put it simply, this almost accounts for 10 to 13 percent of the total global greenhouse gas emissions. Anaerobic digestion offers the best of both worlds. On one hand biogas produced can be used as a fuel for transport as well as for generating electricity and heat, and on the other hand the residue left over from the process can be used as a natural fertilizer which is also known as digestate. This natural digestate can easily replace five to seven percent of inorganic fertilizer which is currently in use. About 82 million hectares of land can be fertilized using this digestate or natural fertilizer. Atmos Power 1

  2. Compressed biogas plants have gained immense popularity over the years. According to the statistics there are about 50 million micro digesters, about 1,32,000 small medium and large scale digesters and 700 biogas upgrading plants functioning across the world. Manufacturers of CBG plants are quite excited across the globe because the growth of the biogas industry has opened new avenues. Based on current estimates, Biogas has a potential to generate about 87 Twh of electricity. This essentially means that we are currently only tapping about 1.6 to 2.2 percent of the total AD technology’s potential. Energy Generation Potential from Available Feedstocks Currently available and sustainably grown major feedstocks in the world have the potential to generate about 10,100 to 14,000 Twh of energy. Again to make it simple to understand this is enough to meet approximately 6 to 9 percent of world’s energy consumption or 23 to 32 percent of global coal consumption. About 16 to 22 percent of total electricity consumption needs can be met with this energy. Experts of bio-cng in India say that the potential of AD (anaerobic digestion) cannot be undermined at all. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that our future will depend a lot on this technology. Hope you found the post useful. For more information about biogas to cng plant, feel free to write to us.
