  1. Monday August 26th “Welcome back to school! Pick up a survey from the back and get started. Let’s get ready for a great year!”

  3. Rules. Why have them? “I think we have rules because…”

  4. Class Rules “RORO” Be Respectful Be On Time Be Ready Be On Task

  5. Now, procedures. Wait…what’s the difference? “In my opinion the difference between rules and procedures is…”

  6. Entering Class • Volume is 1 when entering & then goes to 0 when teacher begins. • Get BOK (interactive notebook), materials, & warm up & move to assigned area • Have a seat, begin warm up immediately, read agenda when finished, then get BOK set up for the day. When teacher begins class volume goes to 0. • Questions?-Raise hand

  7. Getting Attention • Volume goes to 0 immediately • Freeze • Listen carefully, follow instructions, then work consistently • Questions?-Raise hand

  8. Direct Teach • Volume is at 0 • Stay in assigned area • Listen carefully, follow instructions, & take notes on what is being said • Questions?-Raise hand

  9. Exiting Class • Volume is at 0 or 1 • Clean your area, push in your chair, return pencil/pen, & listen for instructions to dismiss you • Walk out the door when dismissed & Make it a GREAT day • Questions?-Raise your hand

  10. So, are the rewards for following rules and procedures worth my effort?

  12. Homework Homework 1 is due tomorrow when you arrive to class (class syllabus)

  13. Exit Ticket: On a notecard Write me one thing NOT on your survey that you want me to know about you. “I want you to know that…”

  14. Turn the Exit Tickets In How To Turn in Classwork Volume is 0-1 Stay in assigned area Give assignments to person in seat 4. Seat 4 pass papers forward. 4. Questions?-Raise hand

  15. Thank you for a great class! Tomorrow we will… Turning in B.O.K.s Volume is 0-1 Stay in assigned area Pass BOKs to seat 4, seat 4 place BOKs neatly in class BOK box 4. Questions?-Raise hand Put foldable & survey inside B.O.K. notebook. We’ll be using them tomorrow.
