Join us for Breakout Session II, where Deborah Crawford from the NSF's Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) will lead discussions facilitated by Alan Greenberg, Executive Director of the MAST Center. This session brings together directors with diverse expertise in computer and information systems to evaluate potential NSF interactions, including the desirability of a "TIE-type" program. Participants will discuss the organization of a CISE-sponsored workshop to explore collaboration opportunities and showcase science and technology activities within I/UCRC programs.

Concurrent Breakout Session II: Friday, January 13 Discussion with Deborah Crawford, Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE), NSF Facilitator: Alan Greenberg, MAST Center Executive Director • Wide range of relevant computer/information systems expertise represented by attending directors • Center interests summarized and potential NSF interactions explored • Agreement on desirability of higher-level “TIE-type” program • Best mechanism: CISE-sponsored workshop to explore possibilities in more detail • Include center directors and possibly selected industry sponsors as well as relevant NSF program directors • Showcase center science and technology activities • Objective: create model program applicable to computer/information sciences as well as other technology clusters represented within I/UCRC program • Deborah Crawford will work with the following Center directors to arrange the workshop: Bojan Cukic, Ram Mohan, Charles Petty, Jag Sarangapani Bruce Thompson, and Chris Wilkinson
