  3. GHG Permitting • Issued 4 permits • Florida Power and Light Port Everglades • TECO • Shady Hills • New Hope • FL SIP set to be signed • Biomass Deferral

GHG Permitting Progress • Permitting continues to be dominated by the energy, oil and gas, and chemical sectors. • Permitting has resulted in application of energy efficiency standards for most sources. • Add-on controls are increasing, but are still only applied to a relatively small number of sources.

Permit Extension Guidance • www.epa.gov/region07/air/nsr/nsrmemos/extend14.pdf • Primarily applies to EPA and delegated permitting authorities • Key points • Applicant must show that an extension is justified • Case by case • First request would not necessarily mean revisiting BACT, air quality analysis, etc. • Second request would require a more substantive review of BACT, air quality analysis, etc.

  6. Modeling Issues • The short term standards continue to be difficult. • Early conversations with the permitting authority are a must. • Answer EPA comments!
