SCHOOL- CONNECTED AUTHORIZATION Request

The Highland High School Fencing Club (HHSFC) seeks authorization from the AVUSD Board to be officially recognized as a school-connected club. Currently, HHSFC exists but lacks recognition, impacting fundraising and association opportunities. Recognition would benefit students by providing sport credit for college applications, improving fitness, and developing responsibility. The club would also bring additional revenue to the school and local businesses through events and tournaments. While there are risks associated with student participation, these are comparable to those of other recognized clubs and sports.
