  2. Observation • Qualitative observation • Quantitative observation As a group use the whiteboard at your table to answer the questions about the vocabulary terms. Pop Quiz of Essential Vocabulary

  3. As a group, make qualitative and quantitative observations using the object at your tables. Use the ruler. You may open the bags to smell, touch, and better see the object. Please place objects back into the bags when done. Do not open the scopes! • Write your observations on the white board. Put qualitative observations on the left and quantitative observations on the right. Do Now: Practice Making Observations

  6. An inference is a logical conclusion drawn from the available evidence and prior knowledge. Example of an observation/inference: • Due to a chance of rain I might need to take my umbrella to school. • Because there is a child playing sign we must be near a park. • The clouds look like snow so the children might be sledding. INFERENCE
