Precautions for handling the hybrid battery Battery dismantling procedure Dismantling the hybrid battery Turning off the engine Disconnecting the 12V battery terminal Disconnecting the safety plug and connectors Discharging the hybrid battery • Wear rubber-insulated gloves. • Use insulated tools. • Do not have any metal objects in your possession while working. • Do not cause any impact on the battery. • Do not disassemble the battery without specific equipment. • Be sure to discharge the battery to store and transport it safely.

  3. Disconnection of the 12V battery terminal 1 2 3 Negative terminal of the 12V battery Unfasten a nut. Caution Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery first. If the positive terminal is disconnected first, there is a possibility of electric shock. Disconnect the negative terminal.

  4. Removal of the rear seat 1 2 3 4 Rear seat Remove the rear seatcushion. Unfasten 2 bolts. Remove the rear seat back.

  5. Turning off the safety switch 1 2 4 5 6 3 Safety cover Unfasten a bolt and a nut. Remove the safety cover. Safety switch in the ‘ON’ position Turn off the safety switch. After turning off the switch, wait 5 minutes for the electric discharge.

  6. Disconnection of battery connectors (1) 1 2 3 Connector / Terminals Battery mounting frame/ Front battery case Disconnect the connector and terminals.

  7. Disconnection of battery connectors (2) 4 5 7 8 6 Remove the frame and battery front case(LH). Unfasten 10 bolts. Unfasten 3 nuts. Nuts for fastening the battery case Caution • Orange colored cables carry high current. • Be cautious when working with electric terminals. High voltage terminals Unfasten nuts and disconnect terminals.

  8. Removal of trunk trims (1) 1 2 3 4 Open the trunk. Luggage center trim Loosen the fasteners. Remove the luggage center trim.

  9. Removal of trunk trims (2) 5 6 7 8 Remove the luggage side trim(LH). Luggage side trim(RH) Remove the luggage side trim(RH). Complete removing trunk trims.

  10. Removal of cooling ducts 1 2 3 4 Outlet cooling duct/ Inlet cooling duct Unfasten 5 nuts. Detach the inlet cooling duct. Detach the outlet cooling duct.

  11. Dismantling the battery 1 2 4 5 3 Handle Battery case Take the battery out of the trunk. Unfasten 3 bolts. • Caution • Be cautious about transportation because a battery weighs about 35kg. • Do not cause any impact on the battery. Dismantle the battery. Finish dismantling the battery.
