  2. “Daily” Disciples • THEME VERSE: “Then He [Jesus] said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, & take up his cross daily, & follow Me. • “All” is every one, & “daily” is every day • Improving self improves the assembly • God accepts nothing less (Amos 5:21-24)

WHAT IS A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST? • A learner, follower, imitator • Matt 28:18-20 – Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

  4. WHAT IS A DISCIPLE OF CHRIST? • Listening Ear (John 8:31-32; 8:28-30; 6:66-71; 15:4-9) • Mary listened (Luke 10:39, 42) • Imitating Heart (Luke 6:39-42) • Listening isn’t enough (Matt 25:26, 30) • Emulating His character (Heb 7:26)

  5. GOD WANTS “DAILY” DISCIPLES! • Jesus commanded it (Luke 6:23) • God’s servants have always known it (Acts 17:11; Psa 88:1; 5:3; 55:17) • The New Testament emphasizes it

  6. Local church: Worship, Organization, Work What God Did! Daily Discipleship • Fellow Christians • Family • Work • Government Our Response God’s Work New Testament

GOD WANTS “DAILY” DISCIPLES! • Jesus commanded it (Luke 6:23) • God’s servants have always known it (Acts 17:11; Psa 88:1; 5:3; 55:17) • The New Testament emphasizes it • Our physical & spiritual needs require it (Matt 6:11; Heb 3:12-13; Acts 5:42) • God is more than worthy of it (Psa 68:19; 61:8; 72:15; Rev 4:8, 11; 5:9)

  8. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service” (Rom 12:1). “DAILY” Disciples! Our needs demand it & God’s grace deserves it!
