  2. A PLAN WITH A PURPOSE PART 4 - LUKE 1:26-33

  3. Matthew 19:25 When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

  4. Ezekeil 37:1-3 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. 2 And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. 3 And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

  6. Big Idea God’s sovereign omnipotence has provided every necessary component of Gospel truth to accomplish His purpose in salvation.

  7. Curiosity

  8. Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

  9. Matthew 1:21-23 She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel”

  10. Cause

  11. Matthew 17:5 …a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.

  12. Consecration

  13. Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

  14. Romans 5:12 …just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned

  15. Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

  16. 1 Peter 2:22 He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.

  17. Philippians 3:8-9 …For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith…

  18. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

  19. Matthew 5:48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

  20. Confirmation

  21. Conclusion

  22. Ephesians 3:20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,

  23. Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

  24. Genesis 18:10-11 The LORD said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him. 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years. The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah.

  25. Genesis 18:12-14 So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, “After I am worn out, and my lord is old, shall I have pleasure?” 13 The LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?’ 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD?

  26. Ezekiel 37:3 “O Lord GOD, you know.”

  27. Matthew 19:26 “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
