History Castel Sant'Angelo (or Mole Adrianorum or "CastellumCrescentizi“X-XIIcenturies), also known as the Mausoleum of Hadrian, is a monument of Rome linked to the State of Vatican through a fortified corridor called "small step". The Castle has been radically changed many times in Medieval and Renaissance on the right bank of the Tiber River, opposite the ”ponsAelius” (now Ponte Sant'Angelo) close to the Vatican, in the Borgo district.
