  1. Set initial fluid composition and mass of sorbing mineral Fe(OH)3(ppd). A sliding pH model is one type of sliding activity path. Use it to predict heavy metal sorption over a range of pH values.

  2. File → Open → Sorbing Surfaces... Open dataset of surface complexation reactions.

  3. “add” → Sliding → pH Go to the Reactants pane to set up a run in which pH varies from 4 to 12.

  4. A sliding pH path shows strength of sorption reactions as a function of pH.
