  1. Music and Sound Effects • An audio professional working in the gaming industry is required to possess not only musical and audio talent, but also knowledge and experience with typical game audio workflow. • This will ensure a good cohesion between group members and give them the confidence in producing quality compositions and SFX. • The music for a game is very important. It sets the mood for the game, and does so much more.

  2. Music and Sound Effects Programs used to create sound track and sound effects. • Pro Tools • Reason 3 • Audacity Equipment used to create sound effects. • Various props were used to create the sound effects, for example, the motor sound you hear in the game is a cat purring. The clicking noises are cans being crushed and bent. All sound effects start from raw recordings in Pro Tools, then added to Audacity to be manipulated.

  3. Music and Sound Effects • All of the soundtracks were composed using Reason 3. Reason is a powerful piece of music software. It is a virtual studio rack with all the tools and instruments you need to turn your ideas into music. It's a complete music system. • Synthesizers, samplers, drum machine, REX file loop player, professional mastering tools, mixer, world class effects, pattern sequencer and more. • I have also out sourced sound effects for the compositions and all of the links are provided in the references section of the powerpoint.

  4. Catalogue of Soundtracks and SFX • I have provided a disc with all of the compositions including the tracks that did not make it into the game. • Included are also all of the sound effects that did not make the final cut and all original compositions composed with Reason 3. • If you would like to open the Reason file you must have the suitable software to do so. Any computer in the music labs should open these files. • The Pro Tools files will also need to be opened in the music labs for further analysis if desired. • All compositions and sound effects are presented in either mp3 format or wave files. • Alternatively if you follow the link provided below, you can view the full archives here. • http://code.google.com/p/it-project/
