  3. BAND AT A GLANCE - the philosophy • Music is to the soul, what water is to body. If that music is drenched in the essence of the profound philosophy of Kabir then it touches the innermost realms of human psyche. • Saint Kabir was known to be one of the most revolutionary poets of our times. His philosophy conveyed through his dohasis always awe inspiring. • Fascinated with this philosophy, the members of KABIRA JUNCTION have explored the wisdom of Saint Kabir giving rise to a musical extravaganza. • The compositions adorned with the rich lyrics anddivinely inspired are highly catchy and foot tapping. • The compositions comprise of different genres including Rock, Jazz & Blues, Reggae Qawwali, Indian Classical, Western Country, UP Folk, Baul (West Bengal Folk), Sufi, Rajasthani and Punjabi.

Original concept, Music compositions, Lead Vocals, Guitars • Rahul has designed the Original Concept of Kabira Junction • Trained in the LucknowGharana Of Indian Classical Music • Empanelled Music Composer with All India Radio and ICCR • Worked for Ad-Jingles (Tata Docomo) and Music Scores in the Film Industry. • Showcased his skills in music festivals in India and also In Cairo and Alexandria.

  5. band members DEEPSHIKHA... Vocals and harmonium • Persued Indian Classical Training under the Tutelage of UstadGulshanBharti and presently under maestro Pt. VikasKashalkar. • Also a professional Semi Classical and Light Vocalist. • Empanelled with ICCR and Grades from AIR and Doordarshan. • Performances include Pt. Nikhil BanerjeeSangeetSammelan, LucknowMahotsav, Kerela Fine Arts Society. • Awarded the Pt. Nikhil BanerjeeSmriti Award and Surmani Award.

  6. band members ROHIT KULKARNI... KEYBOARDS AND BACKING VOCALS • Trained in Indian Classical Music on the Keyboards. Also Showcases the Jazz and Blues Styles of Soloing in Concerts in India and Abroad. • Performed with Renowned Artists like Pt. RonuMajumdar, Taalyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar, UstadTaufiqQureshi, Bollywood Playback singer RunaRizvi and Vijay Prakash among others. • Performed in Music Festivals like TaalChakra and Damru Festival, Composed Scores for Short Films , theme works for Doordarshan.

  7. band members AMIT JOSHI... RHYTHM CONCEPT, TABLA, DRUMS AND PERCUSSIONS • Amit Joshi, a tabla artist is a disciple of tabla Maestro Ustad Allah Rakha and UstadZakirHussain. • Amit also plays the Drums with equal expertise and manages a good blend of the Tabla, Drums and added Percussions in Fusion concerts. • He has been touring with various artists in India and Abroad adding rhythmic quality to concerts. • Plays varied instruments like Kanjira, Duff, Ghatam, Cajon, Djembe etc.

  8. band members ASHISH KUMAR... LEAD GUITAR, BASS GUITAR, PIANICA, PIANO ACCORDIAN • Specialises in playing instruments like Lead Guitar, the Bass, Pianica, the Piano Accordian, the Recorder Flute to name a few. • Music writing and Teaching experience of over 15 years, Ashish has performed with a variety of bands like Talaash, Kabira Junction etc. • He has attained Music Grade Level 6th from the Trinity College of London. • Works as a music faculty in various institutions guiding students.

  9. band members RITESH RANJAN SAHAY...COMPERE • Ritesh R. Sahai is a poet, lyricist, screen and copy writer and a host, based in Mumbai. • With his comparing he perfectly blends the dohas and musical compositions to take the concert to another level. DEEPAK KABIR... LYRICS • Deepak, a lyricist by profession, has been associated with Kabira Junction since its inception and penned words for the songs. • His lines, based on the dohas of Saint Kabir have made his philosophy easier to reach the masses.

TECH RYDER - SOUND REQUIREMENTS • AMIT JOSHI – • Full Drum Microphone Kit • Tabla with (STAND)/ Dimdi - (Shure SM 58 with Big Stand) • Microphones for Duff, Padhant (Vocal Percussion) • Laptop(samples) triggering – EP/3.5mm Line out • Djembe (SM 57 OR EQUIVALENT) • Individual Loud Stage Monitor • ASHISH KUMAR – • Bass Guitar – Line Out • Electric Lead Guitar – Line Out • Pianica / Recorder Flute / Piano Accordian / Vocals – (Shure SM 58 with big stand) • Loud Stage Monitor

  12. OTHER REQUIREMENTS • KABIRA JUNCTION can be approached on the contact numbers mentioned in the further Slides for the remuneration/payments of the concerts. • The band will need 4 hours(including setup) for a sound check post which our instruments cannot be moved from the stage. Organizer shall provide a minimum of three (3) stage- hands to help ARTIST's crew for load-in, stage set-up and load-out. • In case of an outdoor show, we will need the stage covered and also the sound console for the sound check. • The stage should be adequately lit with lights for the performance to have a better effect. • Moving Head Spots / Beams, PAR Cans, Smoke / Haze Machines, LED moving lights will only improve the visual aspects of the performance. • Organizer shall not allow audience to enter place of performance until technical set-up including sound and lights has been completed.
