  2. Test Time  • Please take the next 10 minutes to review your notes/study guide for “Farewell to Manzanar”. Ask any lingering questions you may have!

  3. Daily Grammar Practice – Monday Notes • Write out the sentence and identify parts of speech (noun, verb, adjective, etc.) • can you lend larry and me that literary cavalcade magazine or does your group need it to finish the assignment

  4. Red Hot Root Words – All Together • Grab your new vocabulary worksheet from the front of the room – we’ll go over the words together, then do the back with a partner.

  5. Daily Grammar Practice – Tuesday Notes Write out the sentence and identify its parts: subject (2), verb(2), direct object(2), indirect object (2), infinitive phrase (1) object of the infinitive(1) can you lend larry and me that literary cavalcade magazine or does your group need it to finish the assignment

  6. Red Hot Root Words – All Together • Grab your new vocabulary worksheet– please do the back with a partner, then make your flashcards!

  10. From Night – Vocabulary Study • Look at the sentences on your vocabulary study worksheet (don’t cheat and unfold it!). • Try to guess the meanings of the words from context. • Next, write one sentence for each new word. Try to make your sentences tell a story.

  11. Night by Elie Wiesel • Close read – pages 942 – 945. Fill out your “Text Analysis” worksheet as we read together.

  12. INDEPENDENT READING • Please get the book that you selected for independent reading and read SILENTLY for the next 20 minutes. • When I tell you that time is up, please fill out your worksheet (a summary or your thoughts on what you read – at least 5 sentences NOT copied from the book) and put it in your IR folder.

  13. Ticket Out • Please write one post it for learned and one for confused & place it on our parking lot on your way out the door. • REMEMBER – “nothing” is not an acceptable answer!
