What we have learned: • It is important to set goals that are realistic, timely, and sustainable. • Get other people involved: school community, friends, parents, city officials, outside partners. • See dead ends as new openings. If something does not work, try a different avenue. • Be organized and budget time well to successfully complete a project. • Choose something that is not only feasible but that will have an observable impact. • Enthusiasm…Be passionate about the issue and excited about the project!
Things to Consider… • TIME • Money • Permission • Other people/groups
Student Thoughts… • “When we’re done, who is going to keep this going?” • “We are helping people who are truly in need of help” • “not as much time preparing and more doing” • “We should be the models and show that we care…” • “we need more time…” • “We are the start of something possibly really big” • “I’m actually affecting someone’s life…”
