  3. Today’s Goal: Learn the elements of a plot and the order of events in a plot line (“story line”). Outcomes: Define these terms: Evacuated, interned, aliens, forsaken. Read and analyze the fictional short story “The Bracelet” (Lit text pp. 149 – 155). As you read, identify the plot-line elements in “The Bracelet.”

  4. Starter #1: Thursday we began reading “The Bracelet.” Can you summarize what’s happened so far? Before we continue reading, try to picture Ruri and her family. Imagine what life is like for them. Can you make any predictions on what you think will happen? Let’s find out. . . .

  5. Starter #2: Post-story discussion . . . What did you think of this story? Why do you think the author wrote “The Bracelet”? Turn to p. 155. Let’s see what the author says about her story. . . . Turn to the notebook paper you prepared at the beginning of class.
