  1. The Short Story A good short story can be as meaningful and powerful as any novel. We are ALL going to be reading some short stories starting with …........ “The Star”(1897) by H.G. Wells. “The Star” was written 117 years ago!

While venturing into imaginative and philosophic realms of possibility, the scientific pieces such as “The Star” –one of the most anthologized science fiction stories ever---- frequently take as their subject the individual’s sense of self, within a world whose instability is found to be both attractive and frightening.
