The Mission of the ACMA Resin Loss Control Committee is to improve personnel safety, process safety management, fire protection, product safety support, release prevention, and emergency response for companies in the Resin and Gel Coat supply chain. This will be accomplished by sharing non-proprietary information pertaining to these areas of interest. The members will share practice options, review case history of incidents, and work cooperatively on projects that advance industry knowledge and control of these risks.   6. 2012 Committee Activity Forecast • Incident sharing (ongoing) • Sharing incidents and corrective actions. • Finalize joint emergency response guidelines and issue for publication • Guidelines for exothermic reaction of bulk or drum shipments • Additional projects as identified by the RMC.

Past Activities of ACMA Resin Loss Control Committee • Incident sharing • PSM regulation interpretation • Process Safety Practices • Process Technician Training Modules • Product Safety • Fire and Loss Prevention • Cooperative testing programs (DIERS, calorimetry, sprinkler) • Community relations / crisis experience with major incidents • Material handling (pressurized container, cleaning vessels) • Hydro-blasting and other in-plant services • Raw material safety (DCPD, MA, PA) • Drum Storage Density (NFPA 30 Changes) • Plastic Container Storage (Totes & Drums) Flammable Liquid • Storage NFPA revisions determined applicable with IFC/UFC • Dry Ice Blasting information shared

  8. Past Activities of ACMA Resin Loss Control Committee • Legal ramifications for maintaining incident data base. Not recommended. • Permission to distribute Ashland Bulk Tank design procedures to committee. Complete • Sanitized bulk tank design procedure based on AOC and Ashland storage guidelines to committee for review, comments. Complete • Energy usage spreadsheet to committee and return to Larry Cox, who will create an anonymous summary for committee distribution. Passed off to the Green Committee • Bullet point Green Guidelines to committee for review and comments. On hold – future. • Fact sheet for dealing with exothermic reaction of drum, tote or bulk shipment of resin. In progress • Indentify methylene chloride replacements. Complete.
