  1. Your Presentation Titleeg. Successful Presentations Write a subtitle here. It houldsummarise the content of your presentation. Eg. Using the TILT Template

  2. Introductory Slide This slide should introduce your presentation in an interesting manner. Remember, these slides are a visual aid and should only be used to illustrate and expand on what you are telling your audience. With this in mind, use a quote or picture relevant to your topic to introduce the presentation.

  3. Style 1. Font size: Avoid fonts that are smaller than 20 pt44pt… 28pt… 20pt… Too small 2. Don’t rely on bullet points: use images, shapes, diagrams and flow charts where possible. You might like to Google ‘Creative Commons’ images 3. A maximum of 7-8 lines per slide 4. Consider your choice of font colour Yellow is hard on the eye Blue is ‘friendly’ and readable Red can raise alarm!!!

  4. When Using Bullet Points • Bullet points can be a great way to illustrate information • Break up your points by displaying them one at a time, as you ‘talk to’ them during your presentation. • To do this, select a bullet point and go to the ‘animation’ tab. Choose ‘appear’ and set the animation to start ‘on click’. Repeat. This way, your points will appear each time you click the Arrow key [] or space bar.

  5. Tips • Write a script before you start. That way, you know exactly what information to illustrate in the presentation • Ask questions. This keeps your audience alert and interested • Use a chart! You can create these in the ‘SmartArt’ tab • Always remember to proofread. Spelling mistakes come across as unprofessional • One word: Practice! Always run through your presentation before you start, especially if you are using animations.
