  2. EXTERNAL ANATOMY

  3. Locate the 3 body regions of the perch

  4. Locate and label the upper jaw or maxilla and the lower jaw or mandible.

  5. Locate the nostrils and label

  6. Locate and note the location of the eyes

  7. Find the bony covering on each side of the fish's head called the operculum

  8. Cut awayoperculum and look at gill • Gill Arch

  9. Gill Filament

  10. Find the cartilage support called the gill arch and the soft gill filaments that make up each gill. Label the parts

  11. Label the different fins on the perch • Pectoral Fin

  12. Dorsal

  13. Pelvic Fin

  14. Anal Fin

  15. Caudal Fin

  16. LATERAL LINE

  17. Male Urogenital Pore

  18. ANUS
