The MMSC (Multimedia Messaging Service Center) collects charging reports and generates Charging Data Records (CDRs) for billing. As billing specifics are outside 3GPP's technical specifications, MMS providers have the flexibility to establish their own models. For billing purposes the MMSC collects charging reports, and generates Charging Data records <CDRs> accordingly. CDR’s are then provided to the MMS provider billing system in order to produce subscriber invoices.
