Hillary Rodham Clinton • The First Lady of • ●Arkansas from 1983 to 1992 • ●USA from 1993 to 2001 • She was the first First Lady to hold a postgraduate degree & have a professional career right up until she lived in the White House • There were many mixed opinions about her and her intelligence, most people didn’t like it • She’ll be running for president in 2016

  3. Bill Clinton • The 42nd president of USA • 3rd youngest president • Took office at the end of the Cold War & was the first president of the baby boomer generation A baby boomer is a person who was born during the demographic post-World War II baby boom between the years 1946 and 1964

  4. Hillary and Bill Clinton The two married 5 years after having first met. They’re seen as one of the most political couples Bill said during his campaign that if they elected him, they’d get ‘two for the price of one’ and get 2 presidents

Our culture treats political women differently to political men. • The majority of people in the USA didn’t like Hillary’s intelligence • Most men and also women are often against women being political • Many political women were given nicknamed ‘Iron Lady’, most famously for Margaret Thatcher • For Hillary, she was frequently compared to Lady Macbeth

  6. First Ladies of USA Hillary was one of the most different First Ladies. Michelle Obama Was concerned military and working families, however the media focuses on her fashion sense Laura Bush Was concerned with education and women’s health Barbara Bush Was concerned with family literacy
