  2. What is involved in the work? • The Type of work that is involved in infantryman for the US Army is mostly combat when your deployed but when you are not deployed you do mostly training for your job. You are the front line of the US Army when they are deployed.

  3. Where does the work take place? • The work place for this job is wherever you are stationed, but if you get deployed your work place is wherever you are deployed to. • EX: Fort Brag, NC : • Iraq:

  4. What are working conditions? • The working conditions of an US Army infantryman is rough when you are deployed but when you are at base its not as bad. When you are deployed you are in a combat zone, and when your at base the working conditions is A LOT better cause you are not in a war zone. When deployed you are always on duty and you get very little free time. But when your not deployed you work from 9-5 and the rest of the time your off.

  5. What is the size of the occupation • There are 49,000 enlisted infantrymen in the US Army

  6. What type of training is needed to enter the field? • The training for an infantryman requires 14 weeks of One Station Unit Training(OUST), you also have to do Basic Training, and also Advanced Individual Training. Training takes place both in the field and in the class room. Infantryman also train all the time when they're not in war.

  7. What is the possibility for moving up to a higher position? • The possibility of moving up in positions really all depends on your rank, your job, and how you perform.

  8. What can you expect to earn when you start?  • It all depends mostly on your rank and how long you have been in the service, but if you are a private and have been in the U.S. Army for 6 years your pay will be $19,465 a year. $ $ $ $

  9. What are the future prospects of this career? • The career prospects on being an infantryman after all the schooling you go thought is a promise that you will get the job if you don’t screw around and mess up badly. When I retire from the US Army I will join the police force or pursue in a higher law enforcement agency.

  10. How do you use writing and/or speaking skills in this field?  • You will be writing reports and writing during your schooling in AIT and you also will be reading books while you are in class during your AIT training

  11. Conclusion…….. • I have always wanted to be in the US Army when I was little, I always played Army and I always dressed up like a US Army solider. But ever since I have been with my step-moms family I have wanted to join the US Army even more!!!!!!!
