    4. 1) START WITH A 3D CAD FILE ( OR ANY OTHER DATA FILE THAT CONTAINS ELEVATION VALUES RECORDED FOR EACH LINE). YOU CAN USE ANY FILE TYPE WITH ELEVATION DATA POLYLINES ARE PREFERED BECAUSE THEY PROVIDE MORE CONSISTENT AND EASILY INTERPRETED DATA EASIER FOR THE SOFTWARE TO INTERPRET MUST REMOVE OR BREAK ALL LINES THAT OVERLAP EACH OTHER. OVERLAPS ARE AVERAGED BY THE SOFTWARE. SOMETIMES CAD DATA OVERLAPS DO NOT AGREE WITH EACH OTHER YOU CAN USE ANY FILE TYPE WITH ELEVATION DATA POLYLINES ARE PREFERED BECAUSE THEY PROVIDE MORE CONSISTENT AND EASILY INTERPRETED DATA EASIER FOR THE SOFTWARE TO INTERPRET MUST REMOVE OR BREAK ALL LINES THAT OVERLAP EACH OTHER.     5. 2) EXPORT THE CONTOUR POLYLINES TO A SHAPEFILE. I REMOVED ALL BUT THE CONTOUR LINES. THIS MAY NOT BE NECESSARY FOR ALL DATA PROCESSED THIS DATA TO REMOVE OR EDIT ALL OVERLAPS THIS CREATES A SERIES OF DECRETE LINES WITH ELEVATION VALUES ELEVATION VALUES CAN BE ATTRIBUTE FIELDS OR Z VALUES. I PREFER ATTRIBUTE FIELDS BECAUSE I CAN EASILY ALTER THEM IF THE VALUES ARE OFF. HIGH RESOLUTION DATA IS PREFERABLE BUT MEMORY COSTLY THIS DATA IS AT 1 FOOT INTERVALS.     6. 3) CLIP THE CONTOUR SHAPEFILE WITH THE CUT/FILL BOUNDARIES FOR THE PROPOSED ALIGNMENT. THE PREVIOUS IMAGE WAS FOR THE EXISTING SURFACE. YOU CAN CLIP OUT THE PORTIONS OF THE EXISTING SURFACE THAT WILL BE CUT OR FILLED AS PART OF A PROJECT. I USED A POLYGON FEATURE TO CUT OUT THE LINE FEATURES THAT WILL BE DIFFERENT IN THE FINAL PROJECT. USING ARCMAP.THE PREVIOUS IMAGE WAS FOR THE EXISTING SURFACE. YOU CAN CLIP OUT THE PORTIONS OF THE EXISTING SURFACE THAT WILL BE CUT OR FILLED AS PART OF A PROJECT. I USED A POLYGON FEATURE TO CUT OUT THE LINE FEATURES THAT WILL BE DIFFERENT IN THE FINAL PROJECT. USING ARCMAP.

    7. 4) COMBINE THE CLIPPED CONTOUR SHAPEFILE WITH THE PROPOSED ALIGNMENT CONTOURS. FILL IN WITH THE PROPOSED SURFACE. YOU CAN CHOOSE TO APPEND, MERGE OR LEAVE AS SEPARATE SHAPEFILES IF DESIRED. REMEMBER ALL LINES MUST BE DESCRETE WITH NO OVERLAP.FILL IN WITH THE PROPOSED SURFACE. YOU CAN CHOOSE TO APPEND, MERGE OR LEAVE AS SEPARATE SHAPEFILES IF DESIRED.     8. 5) CONVERT THE COLLECTION OF CONTOUR SHAPEFILES TO A TIN USING THE 3D ANALYST EXTENSION. USING 3D ANALYST CONVERT THE COLLECTION OF SHAPEFILES FOR THE NEW SURFACE TO A TIN (TRIANGULATED IRREGULAR NETWORK) THIS PROCESS CAN USE A LOT OF SYSTEM RESOURCES. A TIN OF THIS SIZE AND RESOLUTION TOOK 1 HOUR AND 1.5 GB OF RAM TO RUN TRY TO USE THE SMALLEST AMOUNT OF DATA POSSIBLE TO DELIVER THE QUALITY YOU NEED. POINT DATA CAN BE DRAPED DIRECTLY ON THE TIN AND DISPLAYED AS ANY NUMBER OF PREPROGRAMED SHAPES TREES AND POWER POLES POLYGON DATA CAN BE EXTRUDED TO ANY HEIGHT. COVERS UP THE DISTORTION IN THE AERIAL DRAPINGADD ANY ADDITIONAL FEATUES FOR THE PROPOSED PROJECT. TEXTURES ARE SHOWN HERE. COVERS UP THE DISTORTION IN THE AERIAL DRAPING

    12. SUMMARY START WITH A 3D CAD FILE (OR ANY OTHER DATA FILE THAT CONTAINS ELEVATION VALUES RECORDED FOR EACH LINE). EXPORT THE CONTOUR POLYLINES TO A SHAPEFILE. CLIP THE CONTOUR SHAPEFILE WITH THE CUT/FILL BOUNDARIES FOR THE PROPOSED ALIGNMENT. COMBINE THE CLIPPED CONTOUR SHAPEFILE WITH THE PROPOSED ALIGNMENT CONTOURS. CONVERT THE COLLECTION OF CONTOUR SHAPEFILES TO A TIN USING THE 3D ANALYST EXTENSION. ADD 3D FEATURES SUCH AS TREES, UTILITIES, VEHICLES, STRUCTURES, ETC. USING ArcScene 3D SYMBOLOGY. DRAPE AN AERIAL PHOTO USING THE TIN AS THE BASE HEIGHT. ADD FEATURES FOR THE NEW ALIGNMENT USING THE TIN AS THE BASE HEIGHT. POST ANALYSIS THE TIN CAN ALSO BE USED TO CONDUCT A VARIETY OF SURFACE ANALYSES USING THE 3D ANALYST OR SPATIAL ANALYST EXTENSIONS AVAILABLE IN ArcGIS Desktop.THE TIN CAN ALSO BE USED TO CONDUCT A VARIETY OF SURFACE ANALYSES USING THE 3D ANALYST OR SPATIAL ANALYST EXTENSIONS AVAILABLE IN ArcGIS Desktop.

Create animation file of keyframes Series of camera positions Export to video Captures a video based on the preselected keyframe (camera) positions Must select a video file type Must select a codex to compress the video Can create an uncompressed video but the file size will be enormous Edit video Combine video clips and add captions using any video editing software available Codex selection is based on personal preference Each codex type has specific specifications and options Should use 24 fps (keyframes different then previous definition of keyframes) Should experiment with the ones available to you to find the one that works best.
