  7. Steps to Answering Problems • Read the question. Underline numbers and words that tell you what to do with the numbers. Then go back step by step and work out the problem. Billy and Manny like to collect baseball cards. Billy has collected 13 baseball cards. Manny has collected 22 baseball cards. How many more baseball cards does Manny have than Billy?

  8. FCAT Style Problems • Example: Maggie’s mother made 2 pies of the same size. Maggie’s family ate 2/3 of the apple pie and ¾ of the cherry pie. Which pie had more left over?
