  1. 1942 • AMES, iowa—the first electronic computer was finished in 1942, when the creator at Iowa State University was called up for the war effort. Another one at the University of Pennsylvania, funded by the military in 1945 made by John atanasoff, and research assistant clifford berry

  2. The first “REAL” computer made The first computer made was invented in 1946 and it is refered to as the “giant brain”, and it was first used as calculations to the HYDROGEN BOMB. Made to help world war 2

  3. The first apple computer • The first apple computer (the apple 1) was introduced on april,1,1976 , in los altos california , by Steve Jobs, and Steve Wozinac. It later became one of the most famous computers invented.

  4. Ibm pc • The IBM PC was introduced in 1981. IT was perhaps the first to wear the “PC” label but that was IBM’s only innovation. They sure sold a bunch of them though.

  5. microcomputer • 1975: Ed Roberts , “the father of the microcomputer” designed the first microcomputer, the Altar 8800, which was produced by micro instrumentation and telemetry systems. (MITS) the same year, two young hackers , william gates , and paulallen approached (MITS) and promised to deliver a basic complier. So they did and from the sale, microsoft was born

  6. First minicomputer • The first mini computer that was sucessful was the DEC (Digital Equipment Corperation) PDP-8 introduced in 1965. Sold more than 50,000 and was later taken over by Compaq computer corperation in 1998 made by ken olsen and harlananderson

  7. 1946-58 (the vacuum tube years) • The first generation of computers were huge, slow, expensive , and often undependable in 1946 two americansPresper Eckert and John Mauchly, built the eniac electronic computer which used acuum tubes instead of mechanical switches of the mark 1

  8. First dell computer • Michael dell was the creator of dell computers he started the computer company in the mid 1980s with the vision of selling IBM compatible computers directly to consumers

  9. Later updates to ibm pc • IBM released another pc in 1982 they needed to break the rules , these changes enabled them to develop and anounceibm pc in 12 months at that time faster than any other product in ibm history

  10. Apple 2 • Apple 2 became one of the most popular computers ever although it is a vast improvement over the apple 1 , it contains the same processor and runs at the same speed.
