  2. You probably have a good idea of what bullying is because you see it every day!

  3. Bullying happens when someone hurts or scares another person on purpose. The person being bullied usually has a hard time defending himself or herself.

  4. Usually, bullying happens over and over!

  5. Respect Don’t be a bully! Don’t allow others to bully you! Don’t watch others bully!

  6. Everyone has a unique set of ideas thought processes values

  7. Everyonedeservesto be treated with respect!

  8. Bullying is…Bullying is…any physical, spoken or written act of abuse

  9. Bullying is… • violence • harassment • intimidation • extortion

  10. It is bullying when you spread rumors, take part in gossip, or threaten someone with looks, notes, or pictures

  11. Bullying is… the use of vulgarity or cursing

  12. Bullying is… making remarks of a personally destructive nature toward any other person

  13. This includes • Spreading bad rumors about people • Keeping certain people out of a "group" • Teasing people in a mean way

  14. Bullying is… any restriction or prevention of free movement

  15. This includes • punching • shoving • acts that hurt people physically

  16. Bullying also can happen on-line or electronically. Cyber-bullying is when children or teens bully each other using the Internet, mobile phones or other cyber technology.

  17. Cyber Bullying can include • Sending mean text, e-mail, or instant messages • Posting nasty pictures or messages about others in blogs or on Web sites

  18. It is bullying whetherthe act is deliberate intentional or unintentional or is directed toward an individual or group

  19. What do you do if you offend someone? • Apologize and never let it happen again.

  20. What do you do if someone offends you? • Tell the person that it bothers you! • Tell the person to stop.

  21. If it continues, tell an adult… Tell a parent, a teacher, guidance counselor or anyone that you trust.

  22. These behaviors are against school rules and many are also against the law.

  23. If a bully attacks you or steals something from you, you can report the incident to the police.

  24. Report school-related bullying to your school. Expect the school to take action to confront the behaviors, discipline the bully, and ensure your safety at school.

  25. If it continues - Tell someone else!

  26. what do you do if you see someone being bullied? Step in & tell the person to stop. Tell an adult what you saw!

How do you keep from being bullied? • Hang out with friends • Join groups who like the same things • Walk to school with someone • Avoid bullies—stay away from them • Stay within the sight of adults: parents, teachers, bus drivers • Do not act scared- keep your head up and be confident • Stay calm-bullies want you to react • Ignore the bully and walk away • Tell someone so it stops
