Genesis 1:1-5 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
Genesis 1:6-8 Then God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters (mayim), and let it separate the waters from the waters."God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so. God called the expanse heaven (shemayim). And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
Genesis 1:9-13 Then God said, "Let the waters below the heavens be gatheredinto one place, and let thedry land appear"; and it was so. God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good. Then God said, "Let the earth sprout vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees on the earth bearing fruit after their kind with seed in them"; and it was so.The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a third day.
Genesis 1:14-19 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons (moedim) and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
Genesis 1:20-23 Then God said, "Let the waters teem withswarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of the heavens." God created the great sea monsters and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind; and God saw that it was good. God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."There was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
Genesis 1:26-31 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind"; and it was so. God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good. Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
The Spirit of Messiah Yeshua was present at the Creation and was the first of any Creation that occurred. Yeshua was the Beginning of “in the beginning” and the Spirit of God that moved on the waters to create: Revelation 3:14 To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this… John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
THE WAY of Messiah Yeshua
Isaiah 11:1-2 Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a branch from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. Revelation 4:5 Out from the throne come flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God…
The Spirit of Wisdom (chokhmah) as an Agent of Creation Proverbs 8:12 "I, wisdom…22-25 "The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of old. "From everlasting I was established, From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth. "When there were no depths I was brought forth, when there were no springs abounding with water. "Before the mountains were settled, before the hills I was brought forth… Wisdom was possessed “at the beginning (reishit) of His way.” This is a clear linguistic hint to the first word of the first chapter of Genesis, B’Reishit bara Elohim…, or “At the beginning, God…” “His way” is another hint. One of the first names of Yeshua’s group of disciples was The Way.
Proverbs does not contain the only allusion to the Spirit of Wisdom as the first day of Creation. The Prophet Jeremiah proclaimed: Jeremiah 51:15 {It is} He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom, And by His understanding He stretched out the heavens. Ecclesiastes 2:13 I saw that wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness.
The Spirit of Understanding (binah) compelled the separation of the upper waters and lower waters on Day Two of Creation: Jeremiah 51:15 {It is} He who made the earth by His power, Who established the world by His wisdom, And by His understanding He stretched out the heavens.
With Understanding (binah) one can group like objects or distinguish an object that doesn’t belong with a group. The root of binah or tevunah comes from the Hebrew word boneh or “build.” Yeshua came as a carpenter, the spirit of understanding, or binah. The Spirit of Binah means to build understanding and is second in order. In Hebrew, the second letter of the alphabet (alefbet) is the beit “b” , which means “house.” The House is a way in Scripture of referring to The Temple. The Hebrew word for spirit is ruach, which is a feminine noun, so there is an interesting play-on words in Proverbs 14:1 The wise woman builds her house… Wisdom leads to understanding!
The Spirit of Counsel (etzah) On the Third Day of Creation, the seed-bearing trees were first spoken into being.Counsel in Hebrew is etzah, and its root is etz, which means tree! Trees are symbols of counsel in Scripture, such as the palm of Deborah or Abraham’s oak in Mamre. The serpent gave unwise counsel concerning a tree bearing unclean fruit. The third day corresponds to the third Hebrew letter, the gimel “g”. The root word gamal means to ripen, to reward, to benefit, or to recompense. The seeds of wisdom planted on Day One ripen and resurrect on Day Three with the Spirit of Counsel. For this reason, Messiah Yeshua was put to death on a tree (etz) as The Promised Seed to sprout Salvation.
An illustration of the resurrection power of Counsel in The Promised Seed is found in Matthew 27:52-53: The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. Yeshua’s Spirit of Counsel demonstrates power not only to resurrect on the Third Day, but to bear fruit. The fruit was resurrection to life of Abraham’s seed, the righteous dead.
The Spirit of Adonai, which is non-specific, occupies the central location in the menorah before the throne of God. It is the Fourth Day, represented by the fourth place marked by the middle lamp whether we count from the right or left hand of the menorah. Genesis 1:16 …the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night… The Fourth Day is associated with government of the days and nights of Creation; therefore, the Spirit of the Fourth Day in some way governs the other manifestations of the Holy Spirit. The middle lamp on the menorah is called the “shamash” or servant light. From this light the other specific lamps of the Holy Spirit are served their lights.
The Significance of the Fourth Day, the Holy Spirit Genesis 1:14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons (moedim) and for days and years; The seven feasts(moedim) of Adonai: Passover Unleavened Bread Firstfruits Pentecost Trumpets Atonements Tabernacles. These feasts manifest the government of Adonai’s Kingdom on earth.
The creation of the 4th day was “for moedim” or “l’moedim.” The l or “l” means “for the sake of” or “belonging to.” The Hebrew word ad means eternity, forever. If we add the prefix mem, to form the word moed, then we either have something taken from eternity or the means by which eternity is accomplished! The Hebrew word ad, for eternity: The moedim are for the sake of eternity to the Creation. They are taken from eternity, the eternal Holy Spirit.
The message of the Creative Holy Spirit of Messiah Yeshua on the Fourth Day is that the seven festivals of Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits of Barley, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles will NEVER pass away because a moed comes from the realm of eternity and continues in eternity.
The Holy Spirit is the Foundation of the Assembly of Yeshua An assembly in Hebrew is edah or adat. Edah is a congregation or church assembly. The root word of edah is the same as moed. It is an eternal assembly (edah) keeping the eternal moedim. Yeshua and the apostles urge us not to forsake these assemblies because of their importance to our spiritual re-creation each year. There is a much older reason we are not to interpret these festivals as “Jewish” or quaint little practices churches can use to spice up an easter season. Satan’s sin was, and is, rebellion…yet in what is his rebellion?
Isaiah 14:12-14 How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations. "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly (moed) In the recesses of the north. 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ Satan’s sin was to weaken all nations, not just Israel, by trying to govern the moedim! All mankind was created to share in the eternal Holy Spirit and to be part of God’s Kingdom celebrated in his moedim.
Until the nations return to Passover, Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonements, and Tabernacles in the power of the Holy Spirit, they will be ruled by an unholy spirit unable to sustain the Creation of Elohim in a very good condition. To rebel against the festivals of God is to follow the sin of Satan and rebel against the Kingdom of God on earth. In His Kingdom to come, however, Zechariah prophesies:
Zechariah 14:16 Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.Jerusalem is the center of the festivals of Adonai. This is where Israel and all nations are taught to worship at the appointed times. To return to the festivals is to return to Jerusalem. To return to the festivals is to regain the strength of the Holy Spirit.
The festivals of Adonai are celebrated because they proclaim THE GOSPEL and cut off the wicked plan of Satan to rule the festivals of the nations:Nahum 1:15Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good tidings, Who proclaims peace! O Judah, keep your appointed feasts, perform your vows. For the wicked one shall no more pass through you; he is utterly cut off. This is The Way of the Holy Spirit on the Fourth Day.
Spirit of Power or Ruach Gvurah The Spirit of Power alludes to the strength to carry out a task or commandment of Adonai. A gever in Scripture is a mighty man, often of valor or war. Spiritual power has more to do with carrying the Gospel than physical strength. Yeshua mandated to his disciples to wait in Jerusalem until they were “clothed with power from on high.” What they received at Pentecost (the Fourth Day) was the Holy Spirit, or Holy Wind, that scattered them among the nations with the Gospel like birds and fish (Fifth Day). This takes the Seed to the nations with wind and sea currents. The risen Yeshua eats fish!
National Geographic Map “Bird Migration,” April 2004. “The Dead Sea Valley in Israel hosts the world’s largest confluence of avian migrants. As many as a billion birds, exhausted from over-desert flights between Africa, Europe, or Asia, refuel near the Red Sea.”
The Spirit of Knowledge (Daat) implies more than intimate knowledge, such as “Adam knew his wife, and she conceived and bore a son...” It is a loving knowledge so deep that it accompanies only the most unified relationships, thus Adam’s declaration, “Flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone...” It is deep sacrificial love unto the sleep of death. It is Messiah’s love that would rather suffer for the Bride and cover her with his own blood than allow her to take the judgment for her sin. Mankind made in the image of his Creator can walk with Him in the cool of the evening without fear. Yeshua earned this for us!
The Spirit of Reverence (Yirat Adonai) Leviticus 19:30 'You shall keep My sabbaths and revere My sanctuary; I am the LORD. The Spirit of Reverence is the Sabbath Spirit that creates rest for the Bride of Messiah. We rest in work we didn’t do-Messiah’s work! Because He declares the end from The Beginning, Reverence is the foundation for receiving wisdom, the first Spirit of Adonai. They are connected at their bases on the menorah: Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; A good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.
PASSOVER - DAY ONE • In preparation for their salvation, Adonai separated the Israelites from the Egyptians by giving them light when the Egyptians experienced thick darkness • Revelation 21:23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. - This is exactly the condition of Day One when the Passover Lamb was slain with the words, “Let there be Light!”
UNLEAVENED BREAD - DAY TWO • On Day Two, Elohim separated the upper and lower waters, the Heaven and the Earth. At the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Holy Spirit teaches us to separate the leaven (sin and pride) from our homes. The home is beit, built on the foundation of wisdom with understanding. Understanding separates sin from the home or HaBayit, the Temple of the Holy Spirit in our bodies. • With this Spirit we pray: “May Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”
FIRSTFRUITS OF BARLEY - THIRD DAY • The Feast of Firstfruits teaches the Body of Messiah to offer the best of the first ripened barley seeds as a sign of resurrection in Yeshua’s Spirit of Counsel. • The first ripe seeds appeared on Earth on the Third Day of Creation. • Ruth the Moabitess was a firstfruit of the weakened nations who returned during the Barley Harvest following Firstfruits
PENTECOST • SHAVUOT • THE FEAST OF WEEKS- FOURTH DAY • Seven weeks are counted from Firstfruits until the 50th day. This is Shavuot, or “sevens.” • Shavuot governs the moedim. 7 x 7 represents the completed festivals, a type of jubilee of weeks rather than years. It is 7 “tongues” of fire divided into two seasons. • Two loaves of fine wheat are offered at Shavuot, representing both sides of the menorah, Israel and the obedient nations restored like Ruth at Shavuot.
FEAST OF TRUMPETS - FIFTH DAY • The Feast of Trumpets is Yom Teruah, or literally, the “Day of Blowing.” Two silver trumpets were blown to summon Israel. • The sea and wind currents began to blow and carry the birds and fish on the Fifth Day. This is the Ruach Gvurah, or Spirit of Power that Yeshua promised to his disciples if they would remain in Jerusalem until Shavuot. They would go to the nations. • A second, greater resurrection occurs because the Fifth Day is joined to the Third. “The Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, the voice of the archangel, and trumpet of God...” The same spiritual cloud that moved the Camp of Israel in the wilderness will gather those who hear the voice of the Holy Spirit in the silver trumpets.
DAY OF ATONEMENTS - SIXTH DAY • Yom Kippurim means “day of coverings.” This is when adam, or mankind, was a man and a woman unified in spirit and flesh. Adam “knew” his wife in perfect, sinless intimacy on his wedding day. • This day is the entrance to the intimate coverings of the Holy of Holies in clouds of incense, oil, and blood. • The Second Adam covered his Bride with his own blood in the Holy of Holies and took away the guilt of Israel as a scapegoat on Yom Kippur. She became flesh of his flesh and bone of his bone. • To this day, Orthodox Jews fast on their wedding days just as they fast on Yom Kippur.
TABERNACLES - SEVENTH DAY SHABBAT • Tabernacles, or Sukkot, is the “Feast of the Nations.” At Sukkot all Israel dwell in sukkot, or booths, to recall the Passover from Egypt. It is a recognition of the Kingdom of God and that Israel rests in the completed work of the Spirit of Messiah. • This rest in the Tabernacles of spirit-filled flesh re-connects with the Spirit of Wisdom, a kingdom of light with no need for sun or moon, a Kingdom illuminated by the Holy Spirit of Creation.
