Restoration of Zahorie Lowland Wetlands: A Natura 2000 Initiative (2005-2008)

This project, managed by Jaromír Šíbl and supported by the State Nature Conservancy of SR and Slovak Water Management Enterprise, aims to restore and enhance the wetland habitats of the Zahorie Lowland. Spanning from February 2005 to December 2008, with a budget of 624,000 euros, it focuses on improving habitat conditions degraded by drainage, maintaining favorable conservation status for various species, and increasing public awareness of wetland conservation. Targeted habitats include semi-natural forests, grasslands, wetlands, and more, supporting a rich biodiversity.
