A New Platform: Technology That Can Be Used Anywhere to Support Students • Innovation: Develop an innovative response to one or more of the three major roadblocks (e.g. planning, information, or peers) • Understanding: Demonstrate an understanding of the realities of 1st generation students • Interactivity: Deliver a user-friendly App that provides information AND support/coaching to students • Social Engagement: Consider the potential for social engagement and networking • Accessibility: Design an App that is accessible to 1st generation students, in terms of pricing and distribution • Planning: Present an idea and plan for development that can be realistically implemented and delivered in a high-quality fashion within the allowable timeframe. 4
