Reflection & Change • The material found at Santa Catalina reflects a complex and developed culture. • Detail in Medallions • Sheer amount of religious symbols • Shells and Tribal beads • Different goods in graves • The site has had few changes due to the nature of the mission being deserted, but later returned to. Therefore the artifacts discovered could have a large range of age. • Yet, the artifacts and features of the mission Santa Catalina have changed little after it’s occupancy stopped. This is due to the difficulty od getting to the area because of the thick and rough terrain surrounding the island.
