  2. The Dragon Boat Festival is a long-standing Chinese tradition. It dates back to 289 BC and takes place in May-June. It is associated With a poet and statesman who drowned himself to protest against injustice. According to the legend people searched for his body but failed to find it.

  3. Now Dragon Boat Races are held on this day. They have become an essential part of the festival. These long narrow boats with a dragon's head at the prow are brightly painted red and gold. In the evening when the race is over the boats parade along the water, decorated with brightly coloured lanterns.

  4. Dragon Boat Festivals that celebrate Chinese culture have developed Into events that people in many countries are proud of. Dragon Boat Races are the fastest growing sport in the world and you can find race teams all around the globe – from Australia to Finland.
