What is ISA-SP95? • An ISA standards committee that develops standards for enterprise and manufacturing integration. • The committee is referred to as SP95. • “SP” means Standards Project and it is the 95th such ISA standards Committee . ( For a full list, visit www.isa.org/standards ) • The standards developed by SP95 are referred to as the ISA-95 Series.

The ISA-95 Series Enterprise-Control System Integration: • Part 1: Models and Terminology – published 2000. • Part 2: Object Model Attributes – published 2001. • Part 3: Models of Manufacturing Operations Management – published 2005. • Part 4: Object Models and Attributes of Manufacturing Operations Management – in development. • Part 5: Business-to-Manufacturing Transactions– approved by SP95 in October 2006; expected to be published in November 2006.

ISA-95 • A success story for standards • Very fast development and implementation of the standards • ERP-to-MES Integration efforts cut from 9-12 months to 8-10 weeks in some cases. • MES, LIMS … requirement development cut from 6-9 months to 6-9 weeks in some cases. • Industry acceptance • End users are using it in requirements • Vendors are supporting it in their products • International • International adoption as the IEC/ISO 62264 Series
