The development of women's and children's healthcare facilities is crucial for improving patient care and safety. Current issues include outdated children's wards, location concerns for the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), and inadequate privacy in clinics. The transition from inpatient to outpatient services is hindered by cramped spaces. Planned updates feature a new Birth Centre, integrated Midwifery-Led Unit, and a state-of-the-art obstetric theatre. Refurbishments of gynaecology clinics and a new safeguarding centre for children will further enhance service delivery and patient experience.
