Each year, an estimated 15,000 to 18,000 individuals, predominantly women and children, are trafficked into the U.S. Human trafficking is a pervasive issue reported in all 50 states. While women were once the primary victims, there is an alarming rise in trafficking cases involving young children. Various organizations, including the Department of Justice’s Human Trafficking Office and the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, are actively working to combat this issue. They provide resources, funding, and essential awareness programs to educate the public about the dangers of trafficking.
