  13. How to prepare for tests Attendance makes a difference! Complete all assignments on time! Review notes and examples frequently. Bring questions to class. Get extra help when needed. Work extra problems to achieve proficiency.

  14. Test prep continued  Don’t wait until the night before the test to study. Use study guides. Think positive thoughts…You can do this! Do easy problems first…don’t waste time. Check your paper before turning it in.

  17. Know the vocabulary Mathematics has a language all its own. Learn the language!

  18. Math Anxiety Create practice tests at home for additional practice. But, don’t cram for the test the night before. Focus on mastery not memorization. Relax with breathing exercises or visualization of doing well.

  19. A Few More Things Share ways that you use math at home and at work with your child. Share mathematics as you encounter it in books, newspapers, etc. Present a positive disposition toward mathematics. Contact your child’s teacher should you have any questions or concerns.
