How did Christianity start? • Jesus Christ • It began as a religion based on life and teachings of Jesus Christ • Jesus died to save us from our sins • Jesus' death made it possible for others to live forever • Jesus lived in Judea and Palestine • Palestine now =Israel • God • God sent his son , Jesus as the savior • God sent his son to help people follow the right path • Christianity • Christianity teaches that Jesus was God’s son • People who follow Christians = Christianity • Christians believe that there is one god revealed in three “persons” • Three persons =Trinity By Ryan S.

How do Christian’s practice their religion?Tony Nan • Pray & sing (songs written in the bible) • Pray every morning • Pray at home when suits them • Pray before each meal - lunch, dinner and breakfast • Important to pray with other people • Sunday is most important because it’s the first day of the week • Memorize important things that Jesus said • Worship with a small group to know each other • Read Bible • All Christians think it is important to study the Bible • Go to church mostly on Sunday • Pray every morning • Sing songs • Read from bible • Listen to talk by priest • Have to marry in church • Lead by a priest at church • Important holidays Easter and Christmas

  5. Question one: what religious text do Christians follow? • Bible = sacred book. • Contains histories, songs, and letters written by different people. • Ex. Paul the apostle to the Ephesians. • 2 main section old and new testaments. • Old testament : the first part of the Christian Bible,= Jewish biblecorresponding to the Hebrew Bible, that recounts the creation of the world and the history of ancient Israel and contains the Psalms and the prophetic books • New testament : the second section of the Christian Bible dealing with the life and teachings of Jesus Christ, containing the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles, and the Book of Revelations • Bible has been translated to over 200 languages. • There are longer bibles in churches • Some books only contain part of • Sections = chapters • Smaller section = versus By Cole Marsh
