  2. Introduction Hey how are you all doing today? I have website I would like you all to see. It is raidsonline.com I'm going to enter my address. On September 29, 2011 there was a house invasion a block away from my house and I live in Golf Manor, this shows we all have crime in our communities.

  3. My Research • Cease Fire Program: Cease Fire has helps fueled people in which are the employees of former gang members in the city’s poorest neighborhoods they are known as the violence interrupters. Their job is to meditate disputes between gangs and prevent retaliatory killings. • The program has been found to directly reduce shootings by 16% to 34% in targeted neighborhoods. • Jobs curbs Violence : experts believe that if youth is busy they will get in less trouble. This helps reduce violence in neighborhoods. • Education Programs: This program educates students about living in urban setting using crime prevention skills. This has helped 36% of crime on campus. • Picnic: This spring 17 year old was shot at her home in Outlook, Wash. It was allegedly by four gang members. There is a picnic held in Outlook to help prevent crime and take their neighborhood back.’ Its part of a slow fight to take back the Eastern Washington dairy town of Outlook.” This picnic might not be a big deal in some communities, but here in Outlook, having 60 people show up to a party that is open at night has a huge push back against gangs. This picnic helps relaxes the adults while watching their children play knowing they are safe.

My Research • 19-year-old Natalie says "she rarely even comes outside.”Her advice is to don’t come outside at night don’t wear red and blue and don’t make eye contact. • Crime Prevention Tips: • Be aware of your surroundings • Travel in groups at night whenever possible, especially when walking • Walk briskly, with your head up • Do not struggle with someone over your property • Do not wear dangling jewelry when traveling into the city • Use lightened walkways and thoroughfares, even if it means going out your way

  5. My Collaboration • I emailed Chief Timothy Eppstein and he actually told me we have a Cease Fire Program here in Cincinnati and which meetings are held every 2nd Thursday in Avondale. Cease-fire talks to gang members and prevents retaliatory gang killings. The Cease program helps settle disputes between gangs, and prevent retaliatory killings.

  6. My Plan • My plan is to organize a picnic that will be against crime. This picnic will be located at the most high crime neighborhood which is Avondale one of the high crime rated area therefore the people in this community will not only be able to enjoy this picnic but also be a part in helping take their neighborhood back. The money will come from a grant, which is called the Celebrate Safe Communities. This picnic will not only help prevent crime but it help the people of the community take their neighborhood back and keep drug dealers away during this period of time.
