  3. TONE WORDS…CREATE… • Scan stanzas 1 & 2 • Pick out the tone words • Based on the tone words, I predict this poem will be ……. • Because I can see images of ……. New blood joins this earth And quickly he’s subdued Through constant pained disgrace The young boy learns their rules 5 With time the child draws in This whipping boy does wrong Deprived of all his thoughts The young man struggles on and on
