Natural Safety Measures

The Delta Programme, led by Government Commissioner Wim J. Kuijken, aims to protect the Netherlands from flooding, integrating natural safety measures to enhance ecological health and community resilience. With 59% of the country at risk of flooding if unprotected, the programme seeks to maintain the Netherlands’ status as one of the safest countries in the world. By fostering collaboration among all government levels and stakeholders, the initiative balances commercial viability with sustainability, ensuring a safe and attractive environment for current and future generations.
