Anhembi Turismo e Eventos) • The Mayor’s representative to the tourism trade - the Tourism Board • Responsible for all promotional activities for the City of São Paulo, including folders, maps, souvenirs, videos, the official website, press trips, fam tours and site inspections • ICCA Member for 31 years, since 1974

São Paulo Convention & Visitors Bureau A non-profit organization, whose main goal is to promote São Paulo as a destination for business, conventions, trade shows and other kinds of events Over 250 associates including airlines, hotel chains, convention centers, travel agencies ICCA Member for 18 years, since 1987 About us

We are part of the São Paulo Meeting & Convention Promotion Committee with UBRAFE – Brazilian Union of Fair Promoters and ABEOC – Brazilian Association of Events Organizers This partnership is responsible for promoting different types of events in the city We research and promote national and international meetings mainly through the ICCA Data Base Our activities

Besides the Committee´s work, EMBRATUR (Brazilian Tourist Board ) also works in attracting events to Brazilian Cities, by providing institutional support for holding international meetings in our country Positive results: Brazil´s ICCA Ranking In 2005 (during IMEX) among the TOP 15 Destinations – 14th position In 2004: 19th position In 2003: 21st position The Industry

The Industry • Tasks and Responsibilities • EMBRATUR • Official Support for Brazilian cities to host ICCA events • (Mandatory – supports only one destination in the country, if the request is either from the CVB or the Tourist Office) • Institutional Promotional Material such as folders and videos • Support for Site Inspections • Support on providing bidding books • Official representatives available to provide support for candidate cities

ICCA Event World Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress Initiative by a member of SPC&VB – VNU Business Annual Event Process begun in 2003 and finished in 2005 Competing countries: Australia and Greece Winning bid for the City of São Paulo for 2009 Expected attendance of 4,000 participants Cases
